Albert E. Mkongwa is a seasoned professional Financial and Management Consultant. He is a MBA graduate from the University of Dar es Salaam with over 15 years experience in providing capacity building, coaching and mentoring services to Individuals/Sole Proprietorships, Micro & SMEs and Corporates in the field of Financial Management, Marketing, Human Resource, Strategic and Business Planning and Investment Management.

Mkongwa has worked with a number of local and international organizations including but not limited to Tanzania Institute of Bankers, USAID ENGINE, Association of African Development Financial Institutions (AADFI) based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, just to mention a few, in providing consulting and training services to Bankers, Business Development Services Providers (BDSPs) and SME .

Currently Mkongwa a National Consultant for United Nations (UN) International Trade Finance (ITC) providing various technical assistance services to SMEs. Having undergone a course organized by Tanzania Media Foundation (TMF) under sponsorship of DW Akademie, he has expanded his field of expertise into providing consulting services to media houses in the areas of Journalism & Content Production, Legal & Regulatory Landscape, Business & Financial Strategy and Technology and Innovation.

 

What motivates you to be part of the Media Viability ecosystem?

I am part of Media Viability ecosystem due to my interest in media as it has always been my passion to expand my services and use my wealthy of knowledge, experience and skills acquired to support the media businesses in providing them with technical assistance to ensure that they have businesses that are viable and sustainable so as to deliver their agenda to the public in terms of providing news & information, educating, entertaining the community at the same time creating value, generating income and employment opportunities for youth and women.

 

What impact do you want to make in the media sector?

The bottom line impact that I want to make is just compared to/make analogy to a doctor, that is to work with media houses’ owners, employees and other key stakeholders to provide technical solutions to keep media houses in good healthy condition financially, technically and economically.

 

What can media organisations as beneficiaries expect when they work with you?

The media organizations should expect a high level , quality and timely professional consulting services that meet and exceed their expectations in trying to provide whatever necessary technical intervention they need, be it capacity building, business management support, coaching or mentorship programs etc in all my key areas of expertise.
