#ConversationsAtTheMiC: Podcasting

The session will be moderated by The Host and Producer of BBC’s podcast, The Comb. A podcast on combing Africa for stories about the unseen forces that bind us together and tear us apart. Kim Chakanetsa, the host and Mary Goodhart, producer, will run one session talking about the process of putting together an episode for a narrative podcast like The Comb. This will include:

• Picking the right story
• Plotting your narrative – finding characters, and constructing a journey
• Interviewing for narrative
• Dealing with the real world – when things don’t go the way you want
• Sound design – using audio to bring a story to life
